Hello! My name is Annette Markin. I'm a 54 year old woman fighting a rare lung disease called, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. I was diagnosed on June 29, 2004 (my husband's birthday). On July 15th I began a treatment called, Flolan. It is administered continuously through a central line that has been surgically implanted in my chest by a portable, battery operated pump. I'm also on oxygen 24/7. As you can imagine, the disease and the medicine are a bit of a challenge. The love and support of my wonderful husband Rod (married 31 years and counting) and our two sons, Nick (28 and married to a beautiful woman named Kara and proud owner of a fat cat named Ivan) and Chris (26 a professional photographer with a goofy dog named Deoje)and other loving family members and friends make this fight less challenging. My faith in God provides me with hope for a cure for this now incurable disease. Please learn more about Pulmonary Hypertension at: www.phassociation.org
Annette, Your Chicago trip sounded like great fun. You packed it full of events, that is for sure. We love Gibson's as well. Yummy place! So many fantastic places to eat in "The Windy City". It was wonderful seeing you at P.E.O. as well. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will see more of you dear. You have been missed!!!! HUGS, di
I loved this picture! I had to tell you that our former next door neighbors' dog was also Deeoji. I thought it was so cute and hadn't heard it before. It was so good to see you at PEO looking absolutely wonderful. Your smile just lights up a whole room! I'm so glad you're feeling better and ready to get out in the warmer weather. Love, Donna
