Friday night Rod and I went to a fish fry with some friends. Nothing's better than a plate full of fried food and a table full of friends!
Saturday morning I went over to church for one of our "prayer shawl" groups. One of the girls in the group finished a prayer shawl for a phriend named Kristi. After we all worked for a couple of hours, we all touched the finished prayer shawl for Kristi then prayed for Kristi and her family. It was very, very moving.
Then, Saturday night Rod and I went to a movie with our friends Jim and Karen. We saw the movie "In Bruges." It was a fabulous movie! It was funny, creepy and very entertaining. I give it 8 puppy paws up! After the movie we went out for a delicious dinner and then headed home.
This morning Rod and I went to breakfast with my phriend Kristi (the person that the prayer shawl was made for). Kristi, her husband and her youngest daughter were on their way from their home in Grand Island to St. Louis where Kristi is going to be evaluated for a double lung and heart transplant. I was so glad that we were able to meet up and that I was able to give her prayer shawl to her.
I've spent the rest of the day laying around and napping. I did not sleep well at all last night (lots of nightmares) and am really dragging my butt today.
Well, that's about it! Thanks for reading.
Annette

That's such a cool idea with the prayer shawl! I'm sure it will give much comfort to Kristi. So where did you guys have breakfast. Last Sunday I came to Omaha and had breakfast at Mimi's with Carie and my sister. Then we went to a babyshower for Carie. Had a great time! Take care.
Are ya still dragging??
I hope you are rested up now for another great week:))
You seem to stay so busy...no wonder you are dragging!!
Take care my PHriend and enjoy the week ahead:)

Jen
Love the prayer shawl idea!!
What a wonderful feeling to be able to wrap your phfriend in a shawl done with such love and prayers.
You are an amazing lady Annette, and do so much for others!

My grandma gave me a prayer blanket a few years ago on my birthday. It was blessed by the priest at her church. I have to admit, I sleep with it every night. I know she meant it for me to bless me and my health, but I often use it to pray for other people. I think it is a wonderful idea and I know that Kristi loved it! :)
Love,
Colleen
What is "In Bruges" about?
I have a tapestry of houses along a canal in Bruges that my husband brought home from Brussels one time.
But I don't know anything about Bruges except it's supposed to be lovely and charming.
"In Bruges" is basically about a couple of hit men who are hanging out in "Bruges" until their boss tells them about their new job. It's really good, funny, etc. It looked like a pretty place. In the previews I actually thought the movie was set in Venice.
