Well, every time I take the pups outside to the yard, they are now "doing their business!" It's huge! Plus, they're also getting the idea of being outside with their leashes, also good news! AND (drum roll please....) the Invisible Fence people have agreed to come to the house and train both pups for me! That means that I don't have to go outside and walk around the entire perimeter of our acreage to train them, in the cold! Yahoo!!! They are going to be coming next week. So, things in the puppy world are pretty darn good right now.
On the flip side, I went to the vet's tonight to pick up Charlie's ashes. Boy, we miss him. We're glad he isn't in any more pain, and that he is with Oscar, but boy we miss him.
Topic change! We are having our annual open house this Saturday! We invite just about everyone we know (and if you are reading this and you didn't get an invite, consider this your invite!) to come by and have some goodies and visit. People can come anytime between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. No, that is not a typo! Rod's mom did this for 25+ years at their home in Lincoln. When she felt that she couldn't do it any more, we decided that we would pick up the tradition! Rod's mom and dad were our greeters! It was fabulous! Then when his mom passed away, his dad became the greeter. Last year, after Bud passed away, we had some friends volunteer. I'm thinking maybe I'll be the greeter with Asa and Haver this year!!
Thanks for reading.

Great news for you and the puppies! I'm glad someone will be training them for you, so that you don't have to freeze your butt off trying to do it yourself! I am sure that Charlie misses you and Rod, too. That'll take a long time to get over, but at least you have his ashes now, and he is close to you again. And I would LOVE to come to your house, but we're having a snowstorm here this weekend, and you're a bit far! Sounds like it would be a blast, though!

Hi Annette,
OH, things in the puppy world do sound so good now. I'm glad things are getting better, I sure was worried about you when you played the incredible hulk and carried the "pup", hehe. I am just so glad that the company who puts in the fence will train them for you, what a relief, its too cold for you to be out too long.
I still feel sooooooooo bad about Charlie, but he is in heaven with Oscar and they are waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. I"m sorry I have not gotten a copy of that sent to you yet, but it will come shortly. When we brought Chelsee's ashes home, oh how we cried. She is in a little box with paw prints on it sitting on my entertainment center for now. I want her buried out back and Bob wants her in an urn. We talk to her picture everyday.
Oh, the party sound wonderful. Do you have people helping you get ready for it honey? Yes, I am a mother hen worrying about you. YOu have a wonderful time and take pictures, lots of pictures. I would love to see your Christmas tree. Aren't I being nebby, hehe.
You take care sweetie.
Much love and many hugs and blessings,
Sue :-)
An open house sounds like fun...and this is the perfect time of year for it. Hope you have fun and get lots of visitors :)
